Where to train 8. 3rd job information ------------------------------------------ 1. Introduction a) Maplestory is the world 1st 2D side-scrolling MMORPG.The purpose of the game is to..well, lvling up, nothing much actually. You will find out how to party, trade, complete quests etc..Now let us jump into the world of maplestory, where your own story begins! b) In maplestory, you are able to choose a job out of 4 jobs, that is warrior, magician, bowman and thief. I assume that you are choosing thief(bandit-to- be), because thats why you are reading this. So, I must tell you to prepare to get ksed by magicians and assassin, or practically all the jobs there is. Even so, you will still want to choose this class, as you will get better as you lvl.. Now, you will ask, why choose bandit?? Well, bandit has great avoidability and good accuracy(you will be very surprise to see a miss unless you are fighting something not suitable for you at your lvl). And, bandit with savage blow maxed with dagger mastery is ultra cool! With your haste and savge blow, few people will be able to ks you. c) Pros of a bandit: 1. Have savage blow, one of the coolest skill in maplestory 2. Savage blow is a very effective attack with stable and powerful damage 3. Have haste, a fun and effective skill(although assassin have it too) 4. Have very fast attack, especially once you got booster 5. Have great avoidability, meaning you will spend alot less mesos on health potions Cons of a bandit: 1. Tend to do less average damage than Warriors, especially against high defence enemies. 2. Cannot attack at range effectively. 3. Have low defence and health, meaning that if you are hit, your health bar will decrease quite alot. ------------------------------------------- 2. Getting started.. When you roll the dice, try to make your strength and intelligence to both 4 like this str:4 dex:any number int:4 lik:any number Don't worry if your strength and intelligence is 5 or 4. I don't think it make a big difference. -------------------------------------------- 2. 1st job Well done! You are lvl 10 now. Right after you reach victoria island, get out of the ship and talk to the man in the ticket booth. Go to kerning city. That is the town where the Dark Lord is and the place where they sell thief equipments. Talk to Dark Lord(ask anyone if you don't know where he is, most people will help you out). CONGRATULATIONS! You are a rogue now! Now your 1st sp allocation will be told to you later. a) Stats Here's how you should allocate your ap.. lvl 1-10 : Add your dex untill it reaches 25 and put all the reamining u earned into luk. lvl 11-40: Your dex should always be twice your lvl. All others should go into luk. lvl 40< : Your dex should be lvl+40. All others should go into luk. Meaning that you put 1 into dex and 4 into luk every lvl when you reach lvl 41 and above. b) 1st job skills Nimble Body-- Master level:20 Increase accuracy and avoidability. Very important and useful. Must max. --- Keen Eyes-- Master level:8 Increases the range of attack using throwing weapons such as throwing stars & knives. Quite useless to bandit unless you want to be a banditsin. DO NOT PUT ANY SP INTO IT! --- Disorder-- Master level:20 Temporarily decreases the morale of an opponent. Its weapon def. and attack will suffer, and the attacking enemy will suddenly stop attacking. Can't perform the attack on an enemy that's already in "disorder", however. For me, I think Dark Sight is better than this so I just put 3 sp into this to unlock Dark Sight. --- Dark Sight-- Master level:20 Use MP to hide behind the shadows. While hiding, the enemy won't attack, but you can't attack back either. All movements other than attacking are available. It's temporary, so after a while, you'll be back to normal. This is a very good skill which I think should be maxed but not in the 1st job because you won't have enough sp for this skill during your 1st job. Should be maxed in 2nd job. --- Double Stab-- Master level:20 Use MP to quickly stab an enemy twice at once using a dagger. This skill is your only attacking skill(other than disorder, which I believe you won't use it). A must to max. --- Lucky Seven-- Master level:20 Use MP to throw 2 throwing stars and apply damage based on LUK, regardless of the rate of javelin mastery. Again, This is totally useless to bandit unless you are a banditsin. DO NOT PUT ANY SP INTO IT! --- c) Different build Build A ---------- lvl 10 - 1 nimble body lvl 11 - 3 nimble body lvl 12 - 3 nimble body lvl 13 - 3 nimble body lvl 14 - 3 nimble body lvl 15 - 3 nimble body lvl 16 - 3 nimble body lvl 17 - 1 nimble body(maxed), 2 double stab lvl 18 - 3 double stab lvl 19 - 3 double stab lvl 20 - 3 double stab lvl 21 - 3 double stab lvl 22 - 3 double stab lvl 23 - 3 double stab(maxed) lvl 24 - 3 disorder lvl 25 - 3 dark sight lvl 26 - 3 dark sight lvl 27 - 3 dark sight lvl 28 - 3 dark sight lvl 29 - 3 dark sight lvl 30 - 3 dark sight(18) In the end, you will have: nimble body(maxed) double stab(maxed) disorder(3) dark sight(18) This is the most reccommended build. Build B ---------- lvl 10 - 1 double stab lvl 11 - 3 double stab lvl 12 - 3 double stab lvl 13 - 3 double stab lvl 14 - 3 double stab lvl 15 - 3 double stab lvl 16 - 3 double stab lvl 17 - 1 double stab(maxed), 2 nimble body lvl 18 - 3 nimble body lvl 19 - 3 nimble body lvl 20 - 3 nimble body lvl 21 - 3 nimble body lvl 22 - 3 nimble body lvl 23 - 3 nimble body(maxed) lvl 24 - 3 disorder lvl 25 - 3 dark sight lvl 26 - 3 dark sight lvl 27 - 3 dark sight lvl 28 - 3 dark sight lvl 29 - 3 dark sight lvl 30 - 3 dark sight(18) In the end, you will have: nimble body(maxed) double stab(maxed) disorder(3) dark sight(18) This is not really reccommended, but you can choose this build if you want bigger damage early. Now if you ask why I chose dark sight instead of disorder, all I can say is, ITS YOUR OWN PREFERENCE. I chose dark sight because I find it more useful than disorder as you can travel around and explore without drinking pots and you won't be using disorder in the later levels because it doesn't have much use (for me). I repeat one more time, ITS YOUR OWN PREFERENCE. ------------------------------------------ 4. Where to train Most people will ask, why do I need to waste so much potions when training, or where to train to earn more mesos. I will tell you now where to train on which lvl. THIS IS JUST MY OWN OPINION. YOU DO NOT NEED TO FOLLOW WHAT I SAY. You can try the monsters ahead of your lvl if you are funded. lvl 1-10 - Train in maple island. Do not try to kill the orange mushrooms and red snail as their health are too high for you(unless you are doing quests). lvl 11-17 - Train on slimes and stumps in the slime tree in ellinia. They will be easy for you. lvl 18-23 - Find yourself a spot in pig beach and train there. Or train on the orange mushroom, you will ohko them in one or two double stab. Or, the least reccommended, train in PQ(party quest) when you are lvl 21. Its least reccommended because for your lvl, it will be hard to fight the monster in the PQ. lvl 24-30 - Do some PQ to earn some equipments and very good exp. Or you can just continue to train in the pig beach. You also can train on octopus in Kerning Consrtuction sites. ------------------------------------------ 5. The 2nd job advancement Well done! You have reached lvl 30! You are on your way to a ks-free life and the cool skill, savage blow! Get to Kerning City asap and talk to Dark Lord, and he will tell you to bring a letter to your job instructor. Before you look for the job instructor, please remember to bring about 30 white potions and 50 blue potions as you will be fighting more than 30 cold eyes and blue mushrooms. Well, all I can say is, good luck! ------------------------------------------ 6. 2nd job skills Maybe you are very excited to add some skill points in savage blow, but it is reccommended not to. I will now tell you more about the 2nd job skills. a) 2nd job skills Dagger mastery-- master level: 20 Increases the dagger mastery and accuracy. It only applies when the character has a dagger in hand. This is very important as it stabalise and increase your minimum and maximum damage. A must to maxed it. But leave it at 19 first, as the last point only adds one accuracy. Maxed it when you have extra skill points in lvl 60+. --- Endure-- Master level: 20 Additional recovery for both HP and MP even while hanging still on a rope or a ladder. The higher the level, the faster the recovery time, along with recovering additional amounts of both MP and HP. Very useful and can save u lots of blue potions, lemons or mana elixers. --- Dagger Booster-- Master level: 20 Use HP and MP to temporarily boost up the attacking speed of the dagger. It only applies when the character has a dagger in hand. Boost up your attacking speed. Very useful. You can do about two savage blow with booster in the same time with one savage blow without booster. Saves time and speeds up your leveling. --- Haste-- Master level: 20 Temporarily improves the speed and jumping ability of every member of the party. Most people would want to party you because of this skill. You won't notice much change in your jump and speed during level 1-5, but slowly, in the later levels of this skill, you will notice a big change and will be "addicted" to it(I'm sure you will want to activate it everytime the time limit is over. You will think that walking without haste is very slow.). --- Steal-- Master level: 30 Enables the character to steal an item from an enemy with a certain success rate. Only one clean steal per monster, but multiple attempts can take place in the process. According to others, this doesn't help much to earn mesos or drops quicker. The item that you have stealed would drop by the monster if you killed it anyway. --- Savage blow-- Master level:30 Use MP to attack an enemy up to 6 times in a row with a dagger. After maxing this skill, which is a must, you will find out that it is quite a mp drainer, and bandits don't have much mp. But most people wouldn't care about their money and keep drinking mp potions to have enough mp to use this skill. This is a very cool skill, and addictive to use(when I finally got my savage blow to level 1, I keep using it on nothing, without caring about mp, just because your eyes will feel pleased to just look at this skill). --- b) The different builds Build A ---------- lvl 30 - 1 dagger mastery lvl 31 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 32 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 33 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 34 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 35 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 36 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 37 - 3 savage blow lvl 38 - 3 savage blow lvl 39 - 3 savage blow lvl 40 - 3 savage blow lvl 41 - 3 savage blow lvl 42 - 3 savage blow lvl 43 - 3 savage blow lvl 44 - 3 savage blow lvl 45 - 3 savage blow lvl 46 - 3 savage blow(maxed) lvl 47 - 3 dagger booster lvl 48 - 2 dagger booster, 1 haste lvl 49 - 3 haste lvl 50 - 3 haste lvl 51 - 3 haste lvl 52 - 3 haste lvl 53 - 3 haste lvl 54 - 3 haste lvl 55 - 1 haste(maxed), 2 dagger booster lvl 56 - 3 dagger booster lvl 57 - 3 dagger booster lvl 58 - 3 dagger booster lvl 59 - 3 dagger booster lvl 60 - 1 dagger booster(maxed), 1 dagger mastery(maxed), 1 endure lvl 61 - 3 endure lvl 62 - 3 endure lvl 63 - 3 endure lvl 64 - 3 endure lvl 65 - 3 endure lvl 66 - 3 endure lvl 67 - 1 endure(maxed), 2 dark sight[1st job skill](maxed) lvl 68 onwards you can put the remaining 9 sp on any skill you like. For this build, you put nineteen sp into dagger mastery first because it raises your minimum damage by alot. But why don't we max it? well, its because the last sp into it only add 1 accuracy, and you don't need that 1 accuracy right now. Its best to make your savage blow do six hits as soon as possible. For the booster part, I reccommend you to add up to five before adding haste is because speed matters alot. You add up to five so that you will have about 1 minute before you need to re-cast dagger booster again. I don't reccommend adding 'steal' because it is known to be a useless skill and that's the fact. But you can add it if you like using the sp from lvl 68 onwards. Build B ---------- lvl 30 - 1 savage blow lvl 31 - 3 savage blow lvl 32 - 3 savage blow lvl 33 - 3 savage blow lvl 34 - 3 savage blow lvl 35 - 3 savage blow lvl 36 - 3 savage blow lvl 37 - 3 savage blow lvl 38 - 3 savage blow lvl 39 - 3 savage blow lvl 40 - 2 savage blow(maxed), 1 dagger mastery lvl 41 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 42 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 43 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 44 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 45 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 46 - 3 dagger mastery lvl 47 - 3 dagger booster lvl 48 - 2 dagger booster, 1 haste lvl 49 - 3 haste lvl 50 - 3 haste lvl 51 - 3 haste lvl 52 - 3 haste lvl 53 - 3 haste lvl 54 - 3 haste lvl 55 - 1 haste(maxed), 2 dagger booster lvl 56 - 3 dagger booster lvl 57 - 3 dagger booster lvl 58 - 3 dagger booster lvl 59 - 3 dagger booster lvl 60 - 1 dagger booster(maxed), 1 dagger mastery(maxed), 1 endure lvl 61 - 3 endure lvl 62 - 3 endure lvl 63 - 3 endure lvl 64 - 3 endure lvl 65 - 3 endure lvl 66 - 3 endure lvl 67 - 1 endure(maxed), 2 dark sight[1st job skill](maxed) lvl 68 onwards you can put the remaining 9 sp on any skill you like. You will want to choose to max savage blow first because it can give more damage than double stab, even though it is very unstable(meaning that in one hit it does 250 but in the other hit it only does 50 damage). You can create your own build yourself adding a little sp here and a little there. Try which build is best for you. Remember, maplestory isn't about the damge you do but the fun you will have. ---------------------------- 7. Where to train Ahh...You have become much stronger. You should be training on stronger monsters now..Let me tell you what to train on(its just my own opinion, if you want to train on other things thats fine). lvl 30-40 : Train on wild boars. They give very good exp and somtimes very good drop. I once found a lvl 40 bowman equipment that I sold for 41000 mesos. That quite alot for this lvl. But Wild boars for 10 lvls might be boring for you so I suggest you can try evil eyes and fire boarsin the late 30s.For me, I started fire boar in lvl 38 And, you won't probably find a spot to train because characters of different class will be ksing you. But it is a good choice as it drops quite a number of equipments. I got about 3 equips from lvl 38-40. lvl 41-45 : Train on evil eyes. You should be one hit ko them by now. lvl 46-48 : You can train on the jr kitties. They give good exp and great drops.Jr Lioner and Jr Grupin drops kumbi throwing star and Jr Cellion drops Wolbi Throwing stars. You can sell these stars for a nice sum of money. You can also do some exchange quest with the solid horns or sell it to people who buys them at about 50-60 mesos for 1. You can also train on curse eye and find the 'deed to the land' if you haven't got it. lvl 49-55 : There's quite a number of monsters you can train on. Copper Drake, stone golem, Jr yeti. If you are strong enough you can try drake, dark stone golem. If you find the monsters not suitable for you, you can go back to the curse eyes. lvl 56-60 : Try the stone golems or dark stone golems, drakes, jr Yeti. If you have godly equips and workglove, try the wild cargo area. Wonderful exp there. lvl 60-70 : Definately wild cargo and cold eyes. Wonderful exp and drops^^. ---------------------------- 8. Third job information If you reach lvl 70 now, what I can say is, wow! You are better than me! Now that I still didn't reach lvl 70, I can only tell you so much. But there are a bit more. Carry on reading. Go to El Nath - Chief Residence and speak to Arec. After talking to Arec, head back to Victoria Island and talk to Dark Lord which is located in Kerning City. Next, find the Door of Dimension located at Monkey Swamp II and it'll bring you to "The Path of the Glittering Crystal". Walk until the end of the path and enter the portal to defeat the wiseman's dark side to obtain the Black Charm. Return to Dark Lord and exchange the Black Charm for a Necklace of Strength. Return to El Nath after that and give the item to Arec. Head on to the Holy Ground at the Snowfield (Sharp Cliff II). 1 Dark Crystal is requirred to answer 5 questions to obtain the Necklace of Wisdom. Again, head back to Arec in El Nath and give him the Necklace of Wisdom. And TADAA!!! Amazing! You are a CHIEF BANDIT!!! ---------------------------- For the builds and where to train, since I have not reach lvl 70, this will be updated in the future. ---------------------------- -Tips- -To earn mesos quickly, seeing that bandits won't be rich untill around lvl 40s, look for noobs that sell scrolls. Once a lvl 4x(well I don't know he is a real noob or not)noob sold me a 60% glove att for just 1.5M!!! YA, no typo! 1.5M!!! You see? Noobs help in earning money. -Try to look for monsters that you can kill in maximum 2 hits for better training. Also, experiment yourself which monster give the best exp and drops. ---------------------------- Thats pretty all for my guide.
